A Note About Hoarders

The maximalist is NOT a hoarder. Maximalists like seeing their emotionally valuable things on display, but are able to declutter and organize as needed. Hoarding is a very serious mental illness that can impact all aspects of a person’s life, as well as the lives of those around them. Hoarding is not a personality flaw or weakness. It cannot be treated with a one-time clean up. A hoarder needs therapy, understanding, and support. Unfortunately, while I do provide judgement-free services, I am not qualified to help in these extreme situations.
